The verse ends with more questions, as the singer wonders if she weren’t Queen Bey would Jay still want her, and whether the true issue is her not being enamored by his own rap royalty. As Beyoncé equates infidelity to a life-or-death circumstance, that comparison rings true. In my “Fair” breakdown, I compared the fragility of life to the fragility of relationships, noting the grief one experiences when either thing fades is itself a response borne of love. Beyoncé then follows that lyric with an actual question: “Are you tryna kill me?” As Beyoncé sings, “So I’m trying to be fair/ And you’re trying to be there and to care,” it’s understood there’s mutual interest in keeping the marriage alive.īut, still, she feels her love often goes ignored, left hanging in the air like an unanswered question. It’s also about a particular hope for reconciliation, which fundamentally can’t exist without love. From there, we learn this song isn’t solely about scorn and betrayal. Knowing what we all know about the inspiration behind Lemonade, there’s a gossipy approach one could take when examining the lyrics of “Love Drought.” But even if all memory of Jay-Z and Beyoncé (and Solange) were scrubbed from existence, and all that remained were the lyrics of this song, it’d be clear the inciting incidents leading to them involved infidelity. The beat was banging with excited punchlines and charisma throughout the entire arrangement. “Nu Moves” is catchy and delivered with fire. The next song that transitioned on the EP was the trap banger “ Nu Moves”. the opening song of an EP is important because it’s the first impression for the listener! Prada Gino sets the bar high off the rip, keeping us excited for what’s next to come. It radiated positive energy onto the listener due to its seasoned elements and pop-infused production. “Catch A Vibe” was pleasant and filled with every vibrant aesthetic that we thoroughly enjoyed. “Catch A Vibe”, is a tropical song that served as the perfect introduction to the EP to get us anticipated for what’s next. “Catch A Vibe” begins with an opening song that correlates with the EP’s name. Prada Gino is ready to set the mood right with his new EP titled “ Catch A Vibe”.
